Pendulum

If you are walking around with some questions, commuting is a good way to get answers to them. A pendulum is a weight on a string or chain that you hold in your hand while asking questions. When swinging the pendulum horizontally back and forth, the answer is 'no', when swinging it vertically up and down, 'yes'. Or vice versa if you find this more comfortable.

There are also special shuttle mats available on which the words 'yes' and 'no' are printed, plus the numbers 1 to 9. Or even luxury shuttle boards on which, in addition to the words 'yes' and 'no' and the number line, the entire alphabet can be found, so that the pendulum can actually spell words by swinging at them.

What I personally find very pleasant to work with are ready-made shuttle cards where a circle lists all kinds of options that the pendulum can point to.

According to spiritualist teachings, it is possible to contact guides, spirits or deceased loved ones through the pendulum. A pendulum board is therefore regularly called a 'pendulum spirit board'. This is similar to the famous and especially infamous Ouija board.

It is therefore always advised to stop dowsing if you get unpleasant answers that feel 'harsh' or 'mean'. In that case, an evil spirit is at play, trying to frighten you.Yet it is not spirits that answer your questions via the pendulum; you do this yourself. This is caused by the ideomotor effect.

Subconsciously, everyone already has an idea of what the answer to their question might be. From the subconscious, a stimulus is sent to the hand holding the pendulum, which will cause the pendulum to move to 'yes' or 'no' as 'of its own accord'. The stimulus is so minimal that it really feels like the pendulum is moving by itself.

When you are afraid that angry answers will appear ('as long as there is no after answer'), it actually happens. Because you unconsciously think about it, through the ideomotor effect, an angry answer will indeed be dredged up from your subconscious and spelled out via the pendulum.

It is therefore important to clear your head as much as possible while commuting and, above all, not to be afraid.

Nevertheless, everyone is capable of using the pendulum to contact their own subconscious. And it is fun to let yourself be surprised by the answers stored in it.
