Explanation OH cards

Explanation OH cards. OH cards are psychological cards with images that hit you right in the heart. I use them in my practice where they have already made many a client laugh or cry instantly.

What are OH cards and how do they work?

The OH cards consist of 88 word cards and 88 picture cards. The word cards are larger than the picture cards and contain a word around the card in a black, clearly printed font.

In the centre of the word cards is a black rectangular outline, in which the picture card can be placed. In this way, a painting with a title is created, so to speak.

I personally find the drawings on the picture cards a bit abstract but as this gives everyone space and freedom to see something different in them, absolutely enjoyable to work with.

Working method OH cards

You spread both stacks of cards blindly on the table after which you draw a card with a word as well as a card with a picture.

Personally, I always turn over the word card first and let it interact with the client.

What does this word do to him/her in relation to the situation he/she is in or in view of the question he/she has asked.

Then I turn over the picture card and put it on top of the card with the word. How does this combination affect the client?

What feeling does he/she get from it, what emotion does it trigger in him/her? Does it feel positive or negative.

Subconscious

Everything we have experienced is stored as a memory in our subconscious. And the very combination of the illustration AND the word immediately triggers something in your brain that is important to you. Something that makes you happy, sad, scared or angry.

This often exposes the root cause of a problem immediately, allowing us to discuss it and get to the root of it.

I have regularly heard from people that this method is more effective than the many sessions they previously had with the psychologist.

I suspect this is because an image often says more than 1,000 words.

OH cards combine

OH cards come in several versions. For instance, there are OH cards that focus on daily stress situations, on trauma processing, on relationships, etc. Personally, I own several sets and enjoy combining the cards from the different editions with the word cards so that countless combinations are possible that give you surprising, new insights time and again.

Previously, I thought OH was an abbreviation for some exciting term but now that I have been using the cards for years and have never read anything about it, I think it just stands for 'OH!' As in 'OH! I get it!'
