Tip 1. Give up sugar immediately
Stop consuming sugar, soft drinks (including diet!) and fruit juices immediately! That is the most important first step you need to take today.
Tip 2. Get more exercise
With exercise, you burn calories and, with intense exercise, fat! Go to the gym three times a week or make sure you walk, cycle or sit on the exercise bike at home for half an hour to an hour every day. Move, move, move! And if possible, try to put some weight on strength training to do! Muscles consume more energy even when you are doing nothing. As a result, you burn more calories at rest, which helps you lose weight. Plus, more muscle mass gives you a tighter, more streamlined body.
Tip 3. Leave saturated fat for what it is
Leave out as much saturated fat (fried/fried products) as possible and opt for low-fat spreads and/or meat! Limit meat to about 100 grams per day. Chicken or turkey meat is great for this.
Tip 4. White is out, brown is in
Leave out 'white' as much as possible and opt for 'brown' and especially wholemeal products (bread, rice, pasta, crackers, etc.).
TIP 5. Avoid stress
Avoid stress. The stress hormone cortisol is a true fattener.
Tip 6. Keep your digestion going
Eat six times a day; three main meals, two to three responsible snacks, and make sure there is no more than 2 to 2.5 hours between meals.
Tip 7. Go for regularity
Eat at regular times, go to bed at the same time every day and get up at the same time every day....
Tip 8. Get your sleep
Go to bed at the same time every night and make sure you actually sleep the sufficient number of hours for you at night.
Tip 9. Control your brain
In the morning, set out your two/three responsible snacks for the day in a place clearly visible to you. Is it yoghurt, cottage cheese or something else in the fridge? Then at least put down a spoon and a bowl. Or if you are making a fresh smoothie: a cup. This way, your brain will focus (and rejoice!) on what you are going to eat and pay less attention to wrong temptations.
Tip 10. Hydrate
Drink plenty. Two litres of fluid a day, if possible much consisting of water and (herbal) tea or coffee without sugar.
