Do's:

  • fresh vegetables or vegetables from pot, canned or frozen.
  • fresh fruit or fruit in its own juice (no syrup!)
  • wholemeal bread, wholemeal (unpolished) rice, wholemeal pasta
  • brinta and oatmeal
  • boiled potatoes
  • pulses (all types)
  • lean meat (skinless chicken, steak, pork fillet, tenderloin, ham steak, beef steak, sirloin steak, tartare)
  • meat substitutes
  • lean meats (ham on the bone, ham on the back, chicken/turkey fillet,casser rib, cooked liver, sandwich spread, roast beef, pork fricandeau
  • fresh fish or canned fish (water-based without oil or sauce!)
  • low-fat dairy products (milk, buttermilk, yoghurt, quark, chocolate milk)
  • 20+ and 30+ cheeses and spreads
  • margarine in a tub
  • liquid frying products such as oil and cooking butter
  • tea/coffee without sugar, water.

Don'ts:

  • vegetables á la crème
  • canned or jarred fruit
  • white bread, white rice, white pasta (pasta)
  • currant bread or currant buns
  • cornflakes and breakfast cereals such as muesli and cruesli
  • baked products (potatoes, fries, fried fish such as goulette, kibbeling and everything from the fryer)
  • fatty meats (all types of sausages, pâté, cured meats)
  • whole dairy products (milk, yoghurt, custard, fruit curd, yoghurt drink, chocolate milk)
  • 48+ cheeses and spreads
  • (hard) butter in packets, margarine with more than 40% fat and cream butter
  • alcoholic drinks
  • soft drinks and fruit juices high in sugars, light soft drinks and juices
