Meanings tarot cards well-being and health

What are the meanings of tarot cards in terms of wellbeing and health? Of course we would like to know if we are doing well physically, but... can we ask the tarot? The answer to this question is 'yes'. It is indeed possible to ask the tarot certain questions related to our health.

At this point, however, I would like to clearly emphasise that it is absolutely not responsible to diagnose or use the advice the cards give in this field as an alternative to medical care!

I have deliberately kept the descriptions of the cards as brief as possible; the ultimate goal is for both the image and the (short) text to stimulate one's subconscious, causing a certain penny to drop, making it clear what is important to pay attention to right now.

Nevertheless, I always do explicitly advise everyone to always consult a doctor as well! The tarot is definitely not intended for diagnosis or as an alternative to regular medical treatments!

The texts below have previously appeared in the book The Intuitive Tarot.

The book is now sold out, but can still be ordered second-hand via the link below.

Explanation

Regarding health issues, ask the question you would like an answer to and then look up the corresponding meaning of the card you drew.

Methods:

  1. Sit with your cards in a place where the atmosphere is good, light a candle and/or incense if you feel comfortable doing so.
  2. With eyes closed, shuffle the cards as you ask your question.
  3. Spread the cards (blind) on the table.
  4. Open your eyes and choose the card that 'jumps out' for you.
  5. Grab this card and look up its meaning in the chart below.
  6. Look at the card, read the short description and see what feeling it triggers in you - in relation to your question. Don't think about it too long; your first reaction contains the answer!

Major Arcana

0. The Fool

You may be a bit restless, not sure what to do and open to everything. Nervous complaints may rear their head.

tarot card meanings

  1. The Magician

You may be a bit nervous or indecisive or both at times. Don't confuse yourself, which can sometimes lead to nervousness or uncertainty, which in turn can lead to physical discomfort.

tarot card meanings

  1. The High Priestess

Possibly your health is stable, just as your mind is balanced. After all, body and mind are interrelated. If you are a woman: Perhaps you suffer from some menstrual complaints or other discomforts related to your monthly cycle.

tarot card meanings

  1. The Empress

You may be feeling fine and in good health. Since the Empress is the fertility card par excellence, there is a chance of pregnancy.

tarot card meanings

  1. The Emperor

There may be stability, a good foundation, even in terms of health. However, stress can make you prone to allergies or if you are predisposed to this; skin conditions like eczema, psoriasis and other rashes.

tarot card meanings

  1. The High Priest

You may be experiencing aching or stiff muscles in shoulders or neck or cramps in the stomach or abdomen. Ask yourself if it is a physical issue or if it has a psychological cause.

  1. The Beloved

You may be a little nervous about one thing or another, causing your heart rate and/or blood pressure to rise slightly. Stay as calm as possible. Is it really necessary for you to get so worked up sometimes? First and foremost, choose for yourself and your health.

  1. The Zegewagen

You may not have anything to worry about in terms of health, except that you have to be careful not to overestimate yourself. Disappointments can 'bite' you pretty hard as can rash actions.

  1. The Force

Possibly you feel good and are comfortable in your skin. You have a good amount of body strength and your health is good or improving. Sometimes this card also represents fertility!

  1. The Hermit

It may be important to take some time for yourself to calmly sort everything out and check for yourself whether you are really living a healthy life. Try not to look for something bad behind every little pain, but rather see a doctor before you scare yourself unnecessarily.

  1. Wheel of Fortune

You may be in good health, but you need to make sure you keep drinking enough (water/tea). Your liver has many tasks to perform and you make it easier for it when you keep your fluid levels up. Avoid nicotine, alcohol and drugs and watch out for too much cholesterol. Your liver is busy enough purifying your blood without having to filter all those harmful substances out of your system first.

  1. The Justice

You may be prone to rheumatic diseases or joint pain due to other causes. Keep drinking enough water/tea so that your body can get rid of all waste products optimally. Pay attention to your posture to avoid stiffness and (back) pain.

  1. The Hanged Man

You may feel listless and/or depressed. Also, keep trying to see the positive things, otherwise your depressive feelings may also cause actual physical exhaustion.

  1. Death

A particular physical problem may be coming to an end precisely because this card is associated with liberation and renewal.

  1. The Moderation

You find that you will find a certain calm when you do everything a bit more in moderation and bring a certain balance to your life. This card is traditionally a good harbinger in connection with health questions.

  1. The Devil

You may be dependent on certain stimulants like coffee, nicotine, and sometimes in worse cases medicines, drugs or alcohol. Also, this card may relate to other addictions like gambling, computing, gaming, sex, food, etc. or a certain mindset that negatively affects your daily life.

  1. The Tower

Possibly you are gloomy or even really depressed. This can affect your physical health in a negative way. Try to get to the root of the problem and remember that there is certainly plenty to go on for. After every winter, no matter how long, spring always follows in the end

  1. The Star

Possibly you are in good health and in case you had some health complaints, most likely an improvement in the situation occurs and will continue.

  1. The Moon

Fears, insecurities, phobias can play tricks on you. Attachment anxiety, fear of making choices, or fear of the unknown also occurs when the Moon appears. Make sure you do not lose your stability and become unstable as a result. Listen to your feelings, your intuition will tell you what is best to do now or not to do. If necessary, ask for help while confronting your (unconscious?) fears.

  1. The Sun

Possibly there is enthusiasm that increases your life force, makes you feel energetic and healthy. Both mentally and physically, you feel good about yourself and... sometimes this card even represents fertility!

  1. The Verdict

You may be experiencing a sense of a figurative 'rebirth'. As if you are developing a 'new you'. You are the same, with the same foundation, but with better physical fitness and mental well-being. Balance seems to have been found and you can now take advantage of it!

  1. The World
